Digital Producer
OVERVIEW The Digital Producer is an experienced news journalist, passionate about devising and executing engaging content published across CNBC International’s digital outlets, including desktop and mobile services and social media accounts. Sitting within the Events and Programming organization, this person will produce strategic, revenue-generating editorial content, and will be accountable for quality assurance, spearheading creative story-telling and journalism across a range of news and lifestyle topics, working through all aspects of the production process and collaborating closely with newsroom teams, including TV show teams, technical operations, editors and graphic designers. The Digital Producer role may include some on-camera reporting work and formal management of direct reports when there is a business need. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Devise distinct and original editorial concepts for digital franchises, series and story-telling that optimise for different digital platforms. Oversee all elements of the production process including guest booking, scouting and securing locations, obtaining necessary permits and rights clearance forms, story-boarding plans, directing shoots, writing and clearing scripts, complying with NBCU Standards and Practices and collaborating on the editing and publication process. Clearly communicate editorial vision and logistical updates in the editorial planning process and in other team meetings. Manage shoots on location, giving clear direction to guests, on-camera reporters and camera operators. Work closely with TV features colleagues on adapting television content to maximize views and engagement on Digital platforms, including cut-downs and edits, shooting additional content and adding elements like graphics and text to video. Write compelling scripts to pictures, editing video and producing promos to deadline. Liaise with social media producers to optimise opportunities for social media reach. Track performance metrics to inform content formats. Balance multiple demands, decide and communicate priorities, schedules and objectives clearly among peers and to senior managers. Work effectively and collaboratively across time zones with teams in other regions. Manage direct report(s) by sharing objectives, setting clear goals, giving regular feedback and promoting training, news skills and career growth. Keep up to date with industry trends in digital production and publishing, sharing knowledge with colleagues.
